Scopus is a global scientometric database that includes:
The Scopus scientific database indexes thousands of scientific publications covering various fields of knowledge and scientific disciplines. To be included in this prestigious platform, a journal must meet strict quality criteria and pass several key stages of selection by an independent commission.
Each journal included in the Scopus database must comply with ethical standards of publication activity, select only high-quality scientific content, maintain high scientometric indicators and fulfill other important requirements.
It should be taken into account that Scopus monitors the quality of indexed journals on a monthly basis and can exclude the journal from the database if discrepancies are detected. Therefore, the choice of a scientific edition for the publication of an article is extremely important.
Today Bulgarian journals represented in Scopus occupy leading positions among scientific publications worldwide, which indicates the high level of scientific potential and prestige of Bulgarian scientific periodicals.
Web of Science is one of the largest scientometric databases covering scientific publications since 1864.
Web of Science capacity:
The platform is based on Web of Science Core Collection, which includes seven citation indices, four of which are intended for scientific journals:
To be included in one of these indices, a publication must meet 24 rigorous quality criteria. Journals that additionally meet the four criteria of scientific impact receive a place in the more prestigious citation indices.
Bulgarian scientific journals are represented in all four major Web of Science citation indices, which indicates a high level of development and authority of Bulgarian scientific periodicals in the international scientific arena.
